Tracey Finck

Editor

Tracey Finck has been editor of Lake Country Journal since August of 2022. She was also the founding editor of the magazine in the late ’90s. Prior to helping to start LCJ, she served as a Crow Wing County extension educator and wrote a weekly parenting column for the Brainerd Dispatch. She has also written a weekly literary column for the Princeton Union-Eagle and done a variety of other freelance writing and editing projects, including writing a parenting book called Love Letters to a Child.

Tracey has taught English and composition for Minnehaha Academy, North Central University, the University of Phoenix, and Bethel University. She earned a B.A in speech and English education from St. Olaf College and a M.A. in English education from the U of M. She and her husband, Greg, have three grown children and four grandchildren. They live in Princeton, MN, and they’re excited to be building a cottage in Crosby.

Betsy Alle

Assistant Editor

After cutting her teeth as a copywriter for Target Corporate, Betsy is thrilled to work alongside her number-one Editor (who also happens to be her number-one Mom).

Betsy earned a B.A. in English Literature from Wheaton College, where she met her now-husband, Ben, a Chicago native and third-generation American-Latvian, whom she successfully convinced to move to Minnesota. One of her proudest accomplishments is learning Latvian as an adult, the language she and Ben speak at home with their two kids. They have two cats, a garden they can't quite keep up with, and a daily liturgy that includes lots of coffee.
